Descriptions Of Ganesh Chaurthi
Ganesh Chaurthi – A ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesha's birthday
Ganesha is known by 108 different names and is the Lord of arts and sciences and the deva of wisdom. He is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies as he's considered the God of beginnings. He's widely and dearly referred to as Ganapati or Vinayaka.
There are two different versions about Ganesha's birth. One has it that Goddess Parvati created Ganesha out of dirt off her body while having a bath and set him to guard her door while she finishes her bath. Shiva who has gone out, returned at that time, but as Ganesha didn't know of him, stopped him from entering. An angry Shiva severed the head of Ganesha after a combat between the two. Parvati was enraged and Shiva promised Ganesha will live again. The devas who went in

Vinayagar or Ganesha is best known as the God of new beginnings. This aspect of the God can be explained by the stories of his origins. The Padma Purana tells that Ganesha was the son of Shiva and Parvati and was born a perfect and normal child. At Parvati's invitation, the other gods and goddesses came to see the new baby and to bestow their blessings upon him. Unfortunately, Parvati's brother Sani had been cursed by his wife so that if he looked at anyone, that person was reduced to ashes. Parvati was so proud of her son that she insisted that Sani come to admire him. Only a quick sideways glance from Sani was enough to cause Ganesha's head to fly off his shoulders. Brahma was also present and promised that the transplantation of the head of the first living creature seen would enable the child to live. Vishnu set off at once and returned with the head of an elephant.…

Our beliefs determine our thoughts and attitudes about life, which in turn direct our actions. By our actions, we create our destiny. For over 200 years western scholars have struggled to understand Hinduism a faith whose followers would arbitrarily worship one of 12 gods. A religion that is vastly diverse. I would like to touch on one of the deities that are worshiped by Hindu people. The most common is Ganesha remover of obstacles and God of success; he is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He is one of the five prime Hindu deities worshiped in India. He is the most widely worshipped God in India, and also beyond, when a new home is built or a business is opened he is called upon to bless the act. Lord Ganesha rides a rat and has four hands which he holds a shell, a chakra, a mace, and a water-lily. He has a head of an elephant and a pot belly which is normal for both male and female deities in Hindu, which shows prosperity. Ganesha was born a normal boy; there are several versions of the story of why he has the head of an elephant. Ganesha’s mother, the goddess Parvati, created Ganesha while bathing by using the dirt from her body. Afterwards she instructed Ganesha to guard the entrance to her bathroom. When her husband, Shiva, came home, he saw a stranger blocking his access and became angry, so he cut off Ganesha’s head in a fit of rage. Parvati was struck with grief, and to console her, Shiva restored Ganesha to life, giving him an elephant head. Another story is Parvati brother Saturn was cursed but at her request he looked upon her newborn Son and by doing so reduced his head to ashes. Vishnu the God of love intervened and searched for another head and returned with an elephant head. As the story changes so does his image, the objects in his hands differ as does the story about his image missing a tusk. Ganesh is a beneficial God to have on your side. No matter the irregularities…

He is considered one of a trinity, but he is not as popular as the other two gods Vishnu and Shiva. Brahma is to be found to exist more in scriptures than in homes.…
