Descriptive Essay
The Beautiful Creation The sun's radiant light covers the Earth and penetrates through the orange sky. Its reflection on the still water is an image of God's most beautiful painting. I stand along the shore and gaze upon a magnificent scenery as the cool water washes the sand off of my feet. A breeze blows across my face and comforts my soul as it relieves my troubles and pain. The tranquility of a setting sun has shown me a glimpse of heaven, and the sound of waves pressing against the sand makes the scene all the more perfect. The scent of fresh air clears my thoughts as I reminisce about her beauty, and, once again, I catch myself thinking of her. I look to the sky and watch the seagulls soar through the clouds. The freedom of the birds brings me hope of, one day, flying through the heavens and liberating myself from all of my enigmas. Yet, here I stand alone with images of her brilliant smile that replicates the sun and her eyes that bring a sense of peace to my heart. She is my sunlight and serenity. Faint whispers of her voice play through my mind as the waves gently sway across the ocean. I look back to see a sequence of footsteps, but hers remain unseen. As the sun fades to the horizon, I recapture the moments we had shared in the past. Years had passed since my confession, and the way I had felt previously has not been surrendered. Her rejection had broken my heart, but, like the sun, I lie here with a promised love that will never stop shining. Through our disagreements, I had the privilege of understanding her sentiments and, each day, I desire to apprehend her thoughts even more. The sky turns dark and the moon gradually begins to appear in the night sky as I am in awe of God's alluring creation. A man once stated, "It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow." Distance will play against me, but fate will bring you back – the sun always comes back. I love her and no words can express such love but the beauty of a sunset. The sun will come and go and the clouds will shift, but the love I have for her will remain forever and constant.

In the poem, “A Summer’s Evening Meditation”, Anna Barbuald uses rich imagery to depict a unique journey across the universe through the use of contemplation, the desire to know and questions that sparks the speaker’s curiosity. The desire that we as humans have to know is the aspect of what this poem highlights. Barbuald allows the speaker to contemplate through the creation of God to find that inner peace and strengthen her relationship with the divine. The speaker first contemplates, then asks questions and later on she wants to know new knowledge to surpass the old knowledge she already knows.…

I glanced out of the train window, watching the scenery speed away. Mighty oaks, bristling firs and radiant maple trees were all transformed into no more than colourful pins. The seat beside me lay vacant, as what once sat a wonderful and lovely gentleman, no longer shares with me the long trip home. I stare at the endless mass of space, overshadowing the Earth. The grey radiant clouds, together, began to form a distinctive image of his face, shaping his luminous smile almost to an exact. The subconscious image the clouds attempted to portray, vanished in a matter or seconds, as the white, thick clouds, spread its wings in what was forecasted to be a destructive path. Witnessing this brings me back to the day God wept a silent rain among the mournful souls.…

We hit a clearing and drop, the world spinning around us, soft grass comforting our throbbing body, the smell. The smell, what is it? It’s new and fresh. We open our eyes and are stunned by the sight. The darkness drowns us, but it is softened by something beautiful overhead; stars, all of them, completely beautiful, each one on its own and every one together. Simply magnificent. We close our eyes and relax, as it seems for the first time in our life, we are completely at peace. Before we know it, its…

Upon boarding the boat, I viewed water as if it were not just water. I found solace in the water, for it is where my grandmother resides. The atmosphere and its cool breeze reassured my soul that all was well. The song, “You Are My Sunshine,” implies, “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away.” My maw maw used to sing that song to me at bedtime and at times when I was consumed in melancholy. While I lament that I cannot be her sunshine anymore, Nature has allowed her to be…

The colors of the desert ran across the canvas of my mind, smudged from the water. Your vision was focused on the horizon, my eyes focused on you. That day we danced and ran and screamed till our lungs gave out, the desert mud staining the soles of our bare feet. Occasionally I believe I can still smell the rain, the mud, you. It is on days like these that I remember vividly, the colors of you violent and saturated. I feel the presence of you in the silence between morning and night, in the moments after a question is asked but before it is answered. I understand that you live inside my head and nowhere else, your address on a street in my mind. But if you do return, I am…

    — Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and imagine another time, another world You knew love, once. But where once was love, now remains longing. The sky showed first signs of winter when they found you: a helpless girl, lost in a world that had not at all been introduced to her properly. The soot from the night prior and the snow from the early morning clung to your hair and skin, just as you had once fastened yourself to your parents’ side. Those who found you knew you as much as you had known yourself.…

What’s better to chill out a hot summer’s day than something sweet and cool? No, I am not talking about a Popsicle. I am not talking about an ice cream cone, either. I am not even talking about iced tea or lemonade. It is something better than all of those, and it doesn’t even have all the sneaky calories of those other tasty treats! The answer to the question is simple. Have you guessed it? It is a cherry.…

The sun drowning into the horizon, it's rays of light glimming in the darkness as the clouds faded and the pale moon peaked at me through the stars through the window. “When you smoke herb, it reveals yourself to you,” is a famous quote of the pothead and marvelous musician Bob Marley. He felt as though marijuana helped tune in with your inner being. I believe cannabis that cannabis does this too and therefore have become a habitual marijuana consumer. Being in tune with ones inner being is important, yet not the reason that I smoke cannabis. The cannabis plant is beautiful, from the leaf to the buds you smoke. I love the ‘highs’ from smoking marijuana, and last but not least, I love how I can function while ‘high’. As I walk down the narrow, brown, rickety bridge that leads to the ocean my heart begins to race in anticipation of reaching the fascinating sight. I’m suddenly surrounded by sand that is white and pure as snow. I walk at a turtle’s speed absorbing this overwhelming beauty that encircles me. The sky is the brightest blue I’ve ever seen, so bright that it almost seems as if it is from an animated movie and not real life itself. Fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before slowly fade away into thin air and the crystal clear waves sparkle like diamonds. The water is never-ending. I see heaps of seagulls flying around the sky, white and grey and full of spirit. As a gust of wind runs through my long, dark, brown hair I look to the right to see two elegant dolphins leap from the deep blue sea and dive back in as if saying hello to the gorgeous, heavenly day.…
