Let Me Tell Ya ‘Bout My Best Friend Saige Mackenzie Polk, a five foot girl with ten feet of attitude and sass. The girl that everyone knows and watches in awe as she struts down the hallways. She’s the girl that succeeds with flying colors at everything she attempts, and never has a thought of giving up until she feels it is good enough for not only herself, but every other person around. Everything about Saige is spectacular from her contagious laugh, her constantly changing hair styles, and her enormous heart that will care for anyone, no matter what the situation may be. With her heart of gold, it was impossible not to become her best friend when I had the opportunity. The new year was about to start, and I was going to get many chances to become friends with Saige. My junior year of high school, I was blinded by the rumors and the drama and I lost the ability to see people for who they really were; and only saw who they were said to be. Unfortunate as it was, Saige was one of those people. I looked right through her and was not able to see what an amazing and charismatic girl she was. We had gone half of the long, treacherous school year only exchanging evil glances that you could feel without turning around; until we had been put into the same group in dance class. Within just a few short hours of working together, we realized that we were much more alike than we could have ever imagined. Whatever she wanted to put in the dance, I thought was brilliant; whatever I wanted to put in the dance, she was all for. With realizing how much we were alike and clicking so well together in such a short amount of time, I knew we both had a great feeling of what was going to blossom into our immaculate friendship.
