Descriptive Essay: Air National Guard Base
With the gigantic Boeing-747 roaring down the runway I could hardly contain my excitement. I was in 6th grade at Savanna Oaks when I met the president for the first time. As a eleven year old meeting the president of the united states was very nerve racking. I had no idea what to expect when i shook his hand except to say “Nice to meet you Mr.President.” Before all this people think it's easy to go on to a Air National Guard Base where the president will be but it's not. There are many things that happen before you even step foot on the base like many check points. When you first arrive at the base there is a gate with 2 men armed with pistols and assault rifles waiting there to check the back of your car and to see if you are on …show more content…

When we were getting escorted outside I looked up and saw the counter assault team with snipers and men with binoculars and helicopters buzzing around I said to my brother “wow look at all this action that goes into one visit isn't it crazy!” He replied “yes it is insane!” Now we hear big rumbles and out of the gray clouds we see lights and blue I said “he’s here!” While the plane slowly descends from the sky you can see it a better view. All of a sudden you hear the screech of the tires and all the agents that were sitting there patiently waiting for his arrival start working like ants this is what they are trained to do to protect the president of the united states. The plane slowly rolls up the rumble of the engine is so much for my ears to handle then it starts to go quiet. Few minutes later you hear the unlatch of the door and it swings open and you are presented with the presidential seal on the inside of the door. All I could think about in that moment is the presidents that had meetings and top secret calls and that it was the traveling oval office or the president on 9/11 and it was just sitting in front of me in all of its glory. Minutes later you finally see the president and he comes up to the rope line and shakes people's hands and finally we were next I had butterflies in my stomach I had no idea what to say

For me this is the scary experience because I have a kid in my chalk that is not even trained yet. It is my responsibility to protect him at all costs. If I make the wrong calls all of us could die, and I do not think I will be able to live with myself if my team died because of me. I have been praying all day that nothing goes wrong, and this turns out to be a simple snatch and grab mission, going all according to plan. The plane is taking off and I have never been this nervous or scared in my life.…

It was a bright, beautiful day in Texas when all of a sudden, I heard gun shots. My crew and I were in the second car behind the president and the governor of Texas along with their wives. Everyone was applauding and cheering, having a wonderful time. I, Bob Walker, was looking out of the car window watching everything that was happening. I then heard *boom, boom, boom*, I thought it was fireworks until another secret service man anxiously say “the president has been shot!” All of us piled out of the car and I ran and jumped on top of the president hopefully shielding him from any further injuries.…

It was unusually cold on this morning of September 11th, 2001, and my alarm had just went off. The odd but needed 5 am. was when I woke up, because my flight was going to leave around 8:30 and I needed to be there on time. The reason I was flying to San Francisco was I was having a family reunion with my dad, my step-mom, and my step-brothers. So, I jumped in the shower quickly with joy and excitement. I hadn't seen my family in forever since I had gotten a job as the assistant of the manager in Ralph Lauren Headquarters. I had just gotten my hair dried as I heard my phone ring. It was dad, making sure that I was on my way. I talked to him for a few minutes and then hung up. I glanced at the clock and realized…

The fourth plane was said to be heading for the White House or the U.S. Capitol. However, heroic passengers had stopped the hijackers and crash-landed the plane in an empty field in Pennsylvania. If it weren’t for those courageous passengers who decided to do something, things would have gone much worse. At approximately 5:20 pm, World Trade Center Building 7 had collapsed due to the heavy debris that had hit the building. The other four buildings were damaged. George W. Bush had stated after the attacks that, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America.” He was right. After the attacks, Americans were closer than they had ever been. People helped strangers on the street and everybody felt the emptiness in their heart because of all the losses on one day. The attacks were financed by Osama bin Laden who attacked in retaliation of the United States support of Israel. Some of the terrorist involved had been in the country for more than a year and others slipped in before 9/11. They had taken flying lessons and chose those specific planes because they help great amounts of…

I have never been astounded by such marvelous architecture until I laid my eyes on Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. Soldier Field seemed like a dragon, just engulfing everyone who was spectating the Mexico vs Bosnia game on May 2011. When I first laid eyes on the monstrosity, I was very intimidated. The thought of entering this behemoth marveled me and made me even more excited to enter and watch the Mexico soccer game that I was anxiously waiting for! Chicago itself is a marvelous city with hidden gems scattered throughout, like Soldier Field. The cold air of Lake Michigan stung my skin and felt like shards of ice piercing my body.
