Descriptive Essay: The Big Game
The Big Game It has been a long weekend with all the soccer games, but today is the big day! It was the day that SLSG Roda JC will win the big championship game! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and let’s take a look back when this weekend all started. It was a Thursday night and the team and I were having our practice meeting with the coaches. The coaches were telling us what we needed to work on so we could be great for the tournament. As practice went on, all of us girls were having a good time, having a good practice.
First, we always start with warm ups to warm our bodies so we could have a good practice. Then, we started off with ball skills so we can improve the ball skills that we have trouble with. After that, we started to do one on one drills and then ended the practice with a fun scrimmage game. That next day, I woke up and was getting ready and

We couldn’t play if the fields had frost on them. My dad, the an assistant coach of my team, and my team coach went to go talk to the other team’s coach got together with the ref and had a talk about the frost on the fields. If we played, our shoes would be soaked and we would be sliding everywhere. So the coaches and the refs said that they are going to hold the game back another hour, so the frost on the fields can go away so that we can have our game that morning. The game started and it all started out as a good game. Everyone was passing the ball, and we were so close to getting a goal! But the goalie got the ball before it when into the net. Them, halftime came and I was pretty worn out. Our coaches had us all get our drinks and walked us over to the field to have a team talk. I would say that my team was having a good game. The coaches were talking, telling the team that we are doing good, but we should fix a few things. Like our passes, our shots, and the assistant passes that could help us get that goal

It had been a long and tough game. The sun was beating down on us and we were all tired when all of a sudden the game’s time limit ran out. We were all tense because no one knew the score. The ref said that the game was tied. We all exhaled. We hadn't even realized we were holding our breaths. That meant we all had to do PKs (Penalty kicks) until one team won.…

After the third and fourth quarter we ended the game 44-6 with 36 points scored by me. Third quarter 12 points were made by me, and fourth quarter one 3 point shot was scored by me. After the game was over we went and got ice cream for the whole team. We all chose our favorite ice cream then devoured our ice creams as a team. After the ice cream we made a promise to each other that we weren’t going to lose a game at all this season, and we all went home and I will always remember this basketball game and how good of a team we were. This is my story, what is…

It was a really hot day. The scorching sun in the sky made it almost impossible to play. When we all got out the truck, we went to the field that we were supposed to play on. There was a game on the field. This meant that we got here early. Of course, most people would use that extra time to warm up. But for me, it was completely different. I sat on the bleachers. I was thinking deeply on my moves in order to bypass the defense. BEEP!!!!! The referee has blown the whistle to end the current game. The whistle snapped me out of what I was thinking. It was our turn to…

I stood up and walked down the stairs to the court. The team and I went to the locker room like we always do at the end of the third quarter of the girl’s varsity game. Our opponent? The number one team in the state of Kansas, the Hanover Wildcats. With only two seniors, our team had a record that you don’t exactly brag about.…

February 12, 2010, it was time to put that Leesburg orange and black jersey on. One late, Thursday night, under our home court, we played St. Cloud Tech. We played them earlier in the season, so we were ready to take them down another round. I was a little sad because I knew that I probably was not going to play this game, but I would not let that affect my attitude. Once we started, I continued to warm up and cheer as I always would. The whistle blew; my team won the first set. Once the second set started, I heard the whistle blow again. This time it signaled something else. It was a substitution, meaning I was going in to play. I was ecstatic that I got the chance to play with my friends and prove to my coaches. After some very intense volleys, the whistle blew once more. We, the Sartell Sabres, had won the second set and were moving on to the third set. While…

She said, “Despite it being our first game in all, we played well. We ran plays smoothly and all worked well together. We definitely will be working on zone defense and rebounding, because during the game we really lacked those skills. The junior varsity played just as well even though they are the youngest team we’ve had for ten years. Coach pushes us to work hard every practice, and that’s what we all need in order to reach the next level and win our games.”…

As we entered the last week of practice, I wanted relish what I thought would be the last few moments of the season. The varsity head coach was present at the last day of practice, and I was surprised when he pulled me aside during a drill. He told me that he had noticed my success during the season, and he wanted me to join the varsity team; for the varsity team still had two weeks of practice left before the state tournament. I held in my excitement and accepted his offer.…

It was a sunny but cold October day. My team was the Pink Dolphins and we played the Purple Striped Unicorns. On my wrist I had my lucky “M” . My best friend, Alexis, was on the other team. We decided that we would hit the ball just so we could end up on the bases so we could talk to each other. Until the fateful moment when my coach said that we cannot talk to the other team.…

We finished eating lunch around 2:30 P.M. Kaylee wanted to stop at Unkl Ruckus because it happened to be just right down the road from Wasabi Chi. We finally got back to the Bucs Arena about 4:00 P.M. Then we swept and mopped the floor and got everything in the cove ready. At 4:30 P.M. we had to go into the locker room to make sure every player had a towel, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Usually, the away team already showed up to the arena, so we have to ask Stertsey to go in and check the supplies for us. By 5:00 P.M. the players had started to show up, once we get everything done they can start changing into their warm-up clothing. We opened the cove at 6:15 P.M. so the public can buy things. Although the game does not start until 7:05 P.M. they start letting people in at 6:15 P.M. so they can find their seats and any food or beverages that they want before the game starts. Throughout the game Kaylee and I took turns watching the game. We would stand down by the players locker rooms are, that way you can see everything going on throughout the entire ice. It was a very close game in the first period, no points on the board…
