The first step was to go to the alleyway, which I already had. Next it said to go to the spot in the brick wall with the single white brick. I looked around for a few minutes and eventually found …show more content…
the brick. Then it said to slowly push the brick in towards the wall and the portal should open. I then used all of my strength to push the brick into the wall, but nothing happened.
Feeling defeated, I realized I had to get to school soon or else I’d be late, which I couldn’t have happen again. I put the note in my pocket sprinted all the way to school and got there just after the bell had rang, my parents weren’t going to be happy. My history teacher, Mr. Johnson frowned as I walked into the classroom and asked why I was late.
` “I missed the bus.” I replied “This is the fourth time you’ve been late to my class, Samantha” “I know, I’m sorry. I won’t let it happen again.” “It better not or else it’ll be a detention” I sulked over to my desk and slid into my seat.
Mr. Johnson opened his book and started talking about the Civil War. I could hardly concentrate on what he was saying. All I could think about was the mysterious note I’d found earlier. I made a plan to go back to the alleyway after school and do more investigating. As soon as the final bell rang at 3:00 I rushed out of my art class, grabbed my backpack and hurriedly made my way out of the school. I decided not to take the bus and just walk to the alley instead. My parents were at work anyway and my older brother was at a friend’s house so nobody would know if I was at home or not. I had only been walking a few blocks when I got an eerie feeling that someone was following me. I stole a quick glance behind me and saw an old man dressed in all black. The man was probably about 70 years old with shoulder-length white hair. He was wearing a long black cloak and black pants which seemed odd considering it was pretty warm that day. I kept walking, thinking that maybe it was just a coincidence that he was walking behind me, but I after I made a few turns and he was still behind me I decided I should just go home. I sprinted the rest of the way home knowing that he wouldn’t be able to catch up to me. When I got to my house I cautiously looked around to make sure I wasn’t still being followed before using my key to open the
door. I walked inside and went to the fridge to get a glass of juice. Then I plopped down at the kitchen table and took a sip of juice while I reached for the note in my back pocket. The problem was, the note wasn’t there.
