I would like to dedicate this whole thesis program to that Good soul, who always stood by me, keeping vigilance over my actions and who taught me How to luv my works? How to luv the people around me, and more? It’s because of that ‘precious’ that I am able to continue, and will surely, forever… Wish I could name it?

DEDICATED TO……

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This thesis topic “Multi-functional Gymnasium” came to me in a dream and I’m really happy to have achieved that. The foundation stone was of course laid by me, but the completion wouldn’t have come without the help of a ‘group work’ and I’m really glad to have a group with members with following personalities.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to all those peoples who helped me with there guidance and moral support. Especially, I would like to thank my guide and mentor Ar. Asok Puthiyan and Mr. Anil kumar P.P. for lending me there valuable guidance during my thesis program. I would also like to thank Dr. Lizmol Mathew and Mr. Naseer

    Conformity In A Gym

Conformity in a Gym Setting The gym can be an intimidating setting to some, while others may feel at home in the gym. There seem to be many preconceived notions of what a gym is like, who is generally found in that setting, and the behaviours that are regularly performed there. In a gym setting, it is easy to see what is ‘normal’ - minimal interactions with people unless accompanied by a friend or trainer, athletic clothing worn, headphones in, and so on.…

    Gym Workout Analysis

Gersham Tennant, the instructor of the body sculpting class led the group through a series of upper body exercises, leg exercises, abs exercises and a concluding stretch all in a single hour session. The body sculpting class at Pantera Fitness was truly a great workout experience in a group fitness setting. The group fitness setting allowed me to work to my maximum potential from the combined intensity not just from the instructor, but from the other participants as well. Working out in a group has numerous benefits. In addition to the health benefits alike those of other forms of activity, group fitness increases motivation and consistency of the participant while instructors display a variety of different exercises and fixing participants’ form. Unlike personal fitness, group fitness classes are often composed of several dedicated and frequent participants, headed by a passionate, enthusiastic and encouraging instructor. Both the participants and the instructor contribute to a more intense atmosphere, allowing all members to perform at a higher level. Enjoyable group fitness classes like Pantera Fitness’ body sculpting class provide multiple sessions each week, allowing people to continue to attend the classes on a consistent basis. Group fitness also has the benefit of being an “active” form of exercise in contrast to simply more “passive” types of exercise, such as working out independently, or going for a jog. For those who seemingly have trouble committing to regular activity, it is often tough to regularly motivate oneself to walking out the door and going to the gym. Group fitness can increase commitment for all participants. The leader of group fitness classes are often well-experienced, and are able to help others correct their form to prevent injury while increasing their workout performance, allowing participants to work at their maximum ability. Often times, working out…

If several hundred years from now archaeologist were investigating our society, they would find endless examples of sport in the United States: stadiums, swimming pools, running shoes, hockey sticks, skis, baseball gloves, posters of sports stars, etc. Even today a basic survey of our country would reveal sports and physical education everywhere: Little League baseball, Physical Education classes, Special Olympics, neighbourhood basketball, jogging, and televised professional sports. Various forms of sport and physical education have been around since the late 1400's and have only gained momentum and recognition in the centuries that followed. One of the first men to recognize the importance of physical activity in school curriculum was Johann Bernard Basedow in Germany. He included gymnastics as part of the daily curriculum devoting up to three hours per day to educating through the physical. Basedow required a specific uniform for his students so they could have unrestricted movement. He also offered camp for two months during the summer for his students. In 1810 Friedrich Jahn, "the father of gymnastics", began working outdoors with his students using simple exercises and games sometimes taking long hikes. The thing that motivated Jahn to develop a system of physical training was his deep sense of patriotism. Germany had been soundly defeated in the Napoleonic wars. So, he developed his system with the hopes of creating strong, sturdy and fearless youth who would help secure Germany's freedom and could defend the Fatherland from outside forces. Charles Beck who was a student, friend and follower of Friedrich Jahn teamed up with a friend and they made their way to Switzerland, France and eventually America. George Bancroft who had opened the Round Hill School in America had been looking at and studying the German system and immediately hired Beck to teach Latin and Physical Education in the form of German gymnastics. So,…
