The learner group for this program will be individuals wishing to gain employment in the childcare industry who have are completing their certificate III in Children Services. Most of the individuals are seeing employment or have gained employment (since commencement of this course) in the childcare industry as childcare assistants As childcare assistant the learners will be required to provide nutritionally balanced, safe and hygienically prepared food as well as identify and respond to children and young people at risk.
This program will be delivered in mostly class-based learning and simulations over 11 sessions. Assessment will be based on participation and level of interaction during classroom activities, completion of written assessments, verbal responses to oral exit interview as well as class based simulation activities. The Written assignment will consist of responding to a number of questions relating to each unit
Aim: To guide and facilitate learning for students through 2 units of competency over 10 lessons over 5 days.

Written assignment: Answer a series of questions relating to each unit of competency to demonstrate understand and knowledge of either provide nutritionally balanced, safe and hygienically prepared food as well as identify and respond to children and young people at risk.
