This essay refers to the existence and especially the necessity and the methods needed to ensure that sustainable cities can be supported globally. Analyzed the Leipzig Charter and the European Framework of Reference for sustainable cities with the participation of Greek cities such as Velvento Kozani’s , Samothrace and Heraklion, Crete. Extensively analyzed the ecological architecture or otherwise bio-climatic architecture and green buildings and what is the most eco-friendly materials for their manufacture. Then we study the case of Copenhagen and the special new program Copenhanize, through which many cities are planning to change their character creating friendly, safe and functional cities by promoting the use of bicycle and pedestrian movement. Below is a lecture by David Sim in Greece and the solutions proposed in the case of Thessaloniki. Also through sources who attended the event, the entire organization was unsuccessful mainly because of lack of organization and lack of respect for the person planner from the Greek side. At the end conclusions are listed and in the Annex are listed legislative decrees, and where cities like New York that changed the town center.
