North Korea is one of the largest possessors of nuclear weapons. A 2015 article in The National Interest states that,
“ The North Korean regime is now invulnerable to outside threats.” This article goes on to say that, “The North Korean nuclear bomb is now a key part of the regime’s survival strategy. It may be the survival strategy.” This article shows that as a result, North Korea is willing to use nuclear weapons to protect them in potential danger. Logically, self-defense would be a good idea but in this case nuclear weapons cause more harm than good. When a nuclear weapon is used, it not only causes loss of lives but also it harms the environment by contaminating the earth.
