It seems to be that the greatest philosophers of history all learned from one another. Aristotle taught Socrates, who taught Plato. We are lucky enough to have access to the minds of these wonderful theorists through their own texts and others’ accounts of their ponderings. Though the times are different, the ideas presented by these philosophers are still very relevant and in some ways have helped to shape today’s society.…

They are what inspired thought and creativity. They began working as early as the 15th century. These early philosophers such as Francis Bacon, Galileo Galilei, and Nicolaus Copernicus motivated others with their theories of science, math, and art. These philosophers led this movement to a change known as the Enlightenment. During these times, philosophers from around the continent battled against one another to prove their theories valid. Their theories involved many subjects such as government, science, and humanism. These ideas had in-depth explanation on how the world around them worked and how modern science was evolving.…

Thomas Kuhn could possibly be the best known philosopher. I agree with many of Kuhn’s theories about the history of science. Kuhn had his PhD in physics and was a professor at MIT Institute. Kuhn was interested in how certain theories that were once held true could be replaced by new theories that were different but also held to be true. I find this very fascinating myself because once I find one thing to be true I don’t necessarily want to think something completely opposite can take its place but in the world we live in there are so many new things that we learn every day. These new things just change the way we look at other things. It’s so good to keep an open mind in this aspect because when we learn new things it opens our understanding on the world as we know it. Kuhn’s Structure of Revolution is a five step process. First is any everyday science, or paradigm. A paradigm is like a solution to a problem. Next step is the anomaly. The anomaly is a problem that can’t be solved. Then, the next step is the crisis, which new ideas and methods are started to try and crack the anomaly that couldn’t be solved previously. The fourth step is the paradigm shift. During the paradigm shift, a new approach becomes successful and works. The last step is when the paradigm is published into books so that other scientists can view the material and also come up with new paradigms. Kuhn’s steps are very important to scientific research and also to improve on other scientific paradigms to keep science progressing.…

With people like Copernicus and Galileo, modern science was able to grow and scientists were able to expand on their ideas. In my opinion the scientific revolution had the most impact in creating the world we live in today. The main reason why I believe that, is because the theories that came about in the scientific revolution were the foundation to what we know as modern science. Copernicus’s heliocentric model is used today, the sun has been proven to be the center of the earth and it is the model that is taught to students all over the world. Galileo on the other hand, expanded on the basic ideas brought to the playing field by Copernicus and was able to provide very important discoveries that have certainly impacted todays science. Because of these discoveries, organizations like the NASA are able to study the planets and calculate distances between each planet accurately. If it was not for the work of Galileo and Copernicus, space studies would have been delayed for many years until someone with the same level of intellect would have began to question things. The scientific revolution completely changed societies views on nature, it gave many the knowledge of the universe/galaxy allowing future generations to conduct further studies. The scientific revolution like all of the other periods of revolutionary change, served as a stepping stone to…

Major ideas blossomed like politics, governing laws, literature, art, history, and new inventions. Scientific thinking was groundbreaking. Ideas of mathematics, astronomy, architecture, and anatomy engrossed the public. The revolution of rational thought dominated society and began a transition because people began using reason to explain human and natural events, rather than the gods. Many Philosophers with their rational thought put things in motion for people to begin to question what influenced their lives in the time of Enlightenment and the French Revolution. Rational thinking gave birth to new inventors to include Hero or Heron of Alexandria. It also made its impact on the way inventions would work throughout history into modern times. Three major contributors to the theory of rational thought were Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. With their search for more knowledge came newer teaching for others, which began a new revolution of education. People were questioning the major factors that ran their lives. The rights people were questioning were their choice of religion, their social standing, and their government and laws. Within these times new governments and laws were formed along with new theories of art and new technological advances. Scientific thinking was groundbreaking among Greek minds.
