1.1 Discourse on the Origin of the Study

"Developmental reading is the process in which students make a habit of reading continuously and not only when necessary (for example during examinations). This is mainly observed in colleges, and it helps students improve their reading skills for their coursework." - ehow.com defines. This means reading regularly will make you a better reader. You'll get a wider range of vocabulary knowledge by making reading your habit.

In this study, we will try to determine how developmental reading affects the vocabulary knowledge of UM accounting technology freshmen students.

1.2 Unity and Diversity of the Study

This study unites everything that is related for a freshman accounting technology student of UM to acquire vocabulary knowledge through developmental reading. And diversifies the their knowledge and perspectives about their accounting subjects.

    In my own education, the reading activities that have had the most effect on my reading have varied. During my primary years, the strategies that we now call direct reading instruction helped build the foundational comprehension and vocabulary skills needed for reading more complex texts in college.
