I Problems while on Training:

Now here we go to the problems. I believe in everything we do there is a problem just like in our training. I had encountered a lot of problems during my stay. Some of them are school related and some are company related. Now let’s start at school related problems.
During my training, there’s a lot of school related problems encountered. Because Centerline Engineering is already operating for years now, some of the most important writing in the machine like modes, coolant switch, light switch, etc. were erased just like in TUP. That’s the very first problem I had encountered in my first machine (one of the oldest in the company). When im trying to put the control on the x-axis, I put it on the z-axis making it move sideways which affects the settings on the maching. That is because of the said problem. Luckily the quality assistant inspector position making it correct as it is, next school related problem I encountered was breaking of a cutting tool. Maybe because of tool fatigue, I break a lot of cutting tool during my stay just like in school. Every tool there cost thousands of peso and it also affect the productivity in the company. Like in our school, if you break your tool bit you will grind another to continue your work and it also spent you some money to buy another tool blank. Time management problem is also another problem I had encountered both in school and in the company. In school, we can only work to the shop up until 7:00 pm and in the company we only work for 8 hours. We can’t do overtimes because we are not allowed to. So if the time comes, you will stop making things and machining parts, that’s bad if you have quotas, but luckily, SI trainees don’t have quota to be finished each day so it is ok for us to do as much as we can or as least as we can. Another problem I experienced is the listening problem. You might think it’s not really a problem because you can focus to the preson talking. But in the factory, its

Problems such as low productivity cannot be properly addressed unless the culture is capable of changing to promote the necessary changes. The second major cause is the inability to monitor and measure performance. Thirdly, the company has not properly determined who needs what training. In addition, the mechanics’ past injuries have contributed to absenteeism. Finally, the old fleet of buses is unreliable and has left passengers stranded or caused them to be late.…

A startling introduction is effective only if it is firmly related to the speech topic. Credibility is the audience’s perception of whether a speaker is qualified to speak on a given topic. Goodwill is the audience’s perception of whether the speaker has the best interests of the audience in mind. A preview statement is especially important in a speech introduction when a speaker is addressing a hostile audience. Under normal circumstances the introduction should constitute about 10 to 20 percent of a speech. The only way to convey that your speech is ending is through the use of words such as “In conclusion.” A dissolve ending is a conclusion that generates emotional appeal by fading step by step to a dramatic final statement. The conclusion should normally make up about 25 percent of a speech. One function of a speech conclusion is to reinforce the speaker’s central idea. The preparation outline should be drawn up before a speaker begins research for a speech. Including the specific purpose with your preparation outline makes it easier to assess how well you have constructed the speech to accomplish your purpose. In the most common system of outlining, main points are identified by Roman numerals and subpoints by capital letters. It is seldom necessary to include a formal bibliography in the preparation outline for a classroom speech.…

In his presidential address to the 2005 NCAA convention (see Box 6.1), Myles Brand referred to the athletics “spending spiral” occurring at DI institutions. He voiced concern about the growing trend of athletic departments becoming financially independent from the university and he stressed that athletics “must be fully integrated into the educational mission” of the university. President Brand’s comments reflect the main concerns of this chapter: the apparent unrestrained growth in athletic department budgets, the consequences of that growth, and the proper relationship between the athletic department and the university.…
