Diabetic Retinopathy Research Paper
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the result of damage due to diabetes to the very small blood vessels which are located in the retina. The blood vessels which are affected from diabetic retinopathy leads to vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy is a leading reason of adult blindness, and screening can decrease the incidence. Screening just increases the chances that a condition will be neglected, found early, or are able to be cured. It is widely suggested that all persons with diabetes should regularly check for diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic Retinopathy, which is loss of vision and blindness, happens when tiny blood vessels grow in the eye, and the high concentration of glucose in fluid that are around the eye makes them fragile. Tiny bulges can be developed in the retina and it can develop in other areas in the eye, and if they start to leak or burst, the fluid and blood can spread throughout the eye. After it starts spreading, blood clot and scar tissue can start to form in front of the retina, which prevents light from hitting the retina, causing blindness. If the fluid is released it can cause swelling which leads to blurred vision. There is no treatment when this occurs ,but the prevention of the build up of glucose surrounding the blood vessels in the eye and the…

In conclusion, I believe that diabetes type 2 is mainly caused by obesity as a larger percentage of people with type 2 diabetes are overweight, and the fact that being overweight also puts you at risk of diabetes because the fat puts a strain on the insides of cells. When the endoplasmic reticulum has more nutrients to process than it can handle, it sends out a warning signal telling the cell to moisten down the insulin receptors on the cell surface. This translates to insulin resistance and to continually high concentrations of the sugar glucose in the…

The blood then becomes much more concentrated than normal…
