According to the DSM 5 Amy Winehouse could have suffered from several disorders. The most significant disorder she had was the anxiety disorder. Diagnostic criteria A in DSM 5 states “Developmentally inappropriate and excessive fear or anxiety concerning separation from those to whom the individual is attached” (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Amy Winehouse gained a major attraction in her short-term career. Although she became famous in short period of time, it came with its own consequences, it caused her to develop anxiety issues. In this case, the evidence is accurate regarding Amy Winehouse. Amy did felt excessive fear when she was not with Blake or if her husband was in trouble. She always wanted him to be with her all the time. In other words, her attachment to her husband was so significant that she could not perform on stage without him. Additionally, another evidence that proves the criteria A is “Repeated complaints of physical symptoms (e.g., headaches, stomachaches, nausea, vomiting) when separation from major attachment figures occurs or is anticipated” (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). In addition to the above evidence, after separation Amy continuously started drink more, she needed to be hospitalized at many different occasions. Not only it affected her social life but also her health. Lastly the third evidence that proves criteria A is “Persistent and excessive worry about losing major attachment figures or about possible harm to them, such as illness, injury, disasters, or death” (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). To put it another way, Amy never wanted her husband to be in any trouble that would cause her to lose him by all means. She had bailed her husband in many instances just for the hope that she could stay with him and
