“Then God bless you! Said Faith, with the pink ribbons…” Faith’s favorite color must be pink, which symbolizes little girls and love. Therefore, Faith must be very young and innocent.
“He looked back and saw the head of Faith still peeping after him, with a melancholy air, in spite of her pink ribbons” I think this dialogue means that when Young Goodman Brow looks back he sees Faith deeply saddened instead of her being her usual happy, carefree self.
“She’s a blessed angel on earth; and after this one night, I’ll cling to her skirts and follow her to Heaven.” I think Young Goodman Brown is trying to say that he knows he is going to do wrong this night, and he feels very guilty about leaving his innocence (Faith) to do wrong. But he’s also saying that after this one night of evil he will make it up to her and to God.
