Dialogue Essays: The Legend Of Peewee
Not too long ago, up in Heaven, there was a kitten named Peewee. He was soft,

cuddly and small enough to fit into a lunchbox. His fur was so snowy white that he

might have gotten lost among the clouds except for two things. He had light brown

spots on his ears and head, and he had a light brown striped tail. Because of this,

everyone could see him coming and going.

“What was this kitten doing in Heaven?” you might ask. The answer is that he

was born on Earth only four weeks ago, but he didn’t have a family. Then he got lost in

some woods.

At that very same time, a little angel from Heaven had just finished saving a small

boy on Earth. He took one more look at the ground below before flying back to Heaven.

When he looked to his right, he saw a big raccoon staring

at the kitten. Poor kitten. The little angel flew back to the ground, grabbed the kitten and

flew him up to Heaven.

On the way, he asked the wee kitten if he had a name. “No,” was the answer.

“Can I call you Peewee?”

“Yes, I guess so,” whispered the kitten, who was still too afraid to open his eyes.

You might have a second question. “Who is this little angel, and is he the only

little angel in Heaven? No, there are three of them.

First, there is Sherman, who is very smart. He loves books and reads all the

ones ever written about heaven, including some funny things written about angels.

After he meets Peewee, he grows very fond of him and reads stories to him whenever

he can.

Then there is Mugsie, who is a tough little guy. He likes watching out for

children, especially those in danger. He is also a bit nosy, which sometimes gets him

into trouble. He is the little angel who saved Peewee from that racoon.

Last is the dreamy-eyed Topsie, who is a clever little thing but clumsy. Babies

are her favorite. She is often the guardian angel for three or of them at one time. But

she has to be extra careful not to drop
