The Opportunity
Chronic Kidney Disease The magnitude of prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in India is immense. A few prior surveys taken suggest 0.8 – 1.2 % of the entire Indian Population suffers from CKD. This implies that in the population of 1 .2billion, approximately 10 Million people suffer from CKD. The number of patients is increasing exponentially. The number of patients who need to undergo Hemodialysis is a large fraction of the entire patient population suffering from CKD. The resources and skill for taking care of this large case load, both in terms of personal and health infrastructure do not currently exist and would need to be created. Hemodialysis
Hemodialysis is a form of dialysis where the blood in the body is continuously removed and passed through an artificial kidney which cleans it. The treatment is an intermittent treatment and is performed ranging from three hours thrice weekly to eight or nine hours six to seven times a week.
The dialysis procedure is time consuming and a routine for CKD patients every week. The patient has to report to a dialysis center and if not lucky has to wait till his turn comes even after taking a prior appointment. The relatives have to accompany every thrice a week during an appointment in case of aged and seriously ill patients. This is very inconvenient and inefficient for the patient and relatives. The dialysis centers are usually large hospitals that create a negative and a depressing vibe even after being expensive services.
Hemodialysis
Our Solution
To develop standalone Hemodialysis centers across various cities in India, the Indian Sub
Continent and the Middle East. The Center will be equipped with 6-10 dialysis machines (depending on the demographic) and offer only hemodialysis services. The center will be equipped with an in-house Van to pick up and drop patients as per
