First Journal Entry

It was March 5th 1770. In the past few years, the British raised taxes to reproduce their economic crisis. People in school were furious, the school canceled afternoon tea, and people wouldn’t but products from Britain anymore. But mom and dad seemed OK, they still drank tea and bought carpets or other products from Britain, dad said the King would make a decision for a reason, and as citizens, we should follow. Well, I disagreed with him, but it was no use.

I went to Johns house after school for a crate of beer, we sat down and started talking about the sugar acts. John said his parents totally agreed with him, they haven’t bought any British products since they raised the taxes. We drank more and more beer, and when I was almost

I didn’t care about it, but John jumped up and went outside, after 6 minutes, he came back running and saying: “there’s a fight between some colonies and British soldiers, don’t go outside, you might get hurt.” We ran upstairs and found a good spot that could make us see the whole process. There was a drunk man swearing to a British soldier, and the soldier gave the peasant a punch in the face, the peasant ran away for a while and more people came afterwards. I opened the window and climbed onto the roof, John followed, now, the vision was even more clear, we could hear people yelling: “go back to your country!” Or “you guys are just making our lives horrible!” There was only one soldier, and I could tell he was angry, but there was only one of him, and there were at least 70 colonists. This continued for 10 minutes and more soldiers approached. The action was hitting its climate, soldiers and colonies were arguing and people started to throw objects among soldiers. Some people even called their family members to come and help, the amount of people magically increased towards 200. John was worried: “wouldn’t the soldiers be pissed off it they wouldn’t stop?” Soon his word became true, the
