Ingrid Bergman, one of the greatest film stars of all times, won everyone’s heart with her natural and always unedited beauty, and the wholesome roles she was cast to. The unstructured filming methods that Ingrid had found charming in the beginning now annoyed her. She missed her life in Hollywood, and even more she missed the acting she did there. It was obvious that Ingrid and Rossellini was a bad team when it came to making movies, and they both saw the problems. Still, he did not want to let her go. They were both caged in their relationship, tearing each other apart. When Ingrid was offered a part in the french movie Elena Et Les Hommes she immediately took the chance. The movie was no success, but it was not long until the next chance came along. Twentieth Century-Fox were going to film the movie Anastasia, and Anatole Litvak was the director. However, he did have one condition to direct the movie, and that was that Ingrid would play the role. Even though Fox was terrified to be boycotted if they gave her the role, they eventually said yes. They made the decision after a market survey that showed that people would be okay with it. When people felt like they knew her as well as a family member, there is no wonder they were upset and felt betrayed when she was unfaithful towards her husband. Many of us know the feeling, a celebrity you admire and feel like you know personally, does something wrong, and you feel betrayed. Maybe they abuse someone, rape someone, or do drugs, and you feel like they betrayed you, because they did something unlike them, according to you. It is easy to forget that they are someone else beneath what media show us. But, after the storm has calmed down, people can be rational again. They realise that they were never betrayed at all, only disappointed. And the people we love will disappoint us, over and over again, but that will not make us love them less.
