Sexuality at Different Life Stages
It has been evolving for millions of years human sexuality has continued to be one of the largest issues that is addressed and critiqued by people all over the world. Depending on the scenario, a person’s sexual situation can be greatly different from their encounter with someone else from the next person. The issues many of us face on a daily basis can ultimately affect our behaviors when engaging in or discussing sex and the actions involved. The 3 cases I will be discussing are about: Adolescent Sexuality, Mature Adult Sexuality, and Sexuality and Disabilities. Anna
She is beginning to grow up, developing into a young lady so it is expected that she will encounter a situation that can involve sex. In her current situation, just the anxieties about sexual intercourse itself make it difficult to make good decisions. Because she is torn between her boyfriend and getting her parents approval of him. During this time it is extremely important that she learns and completely understands that making decisions about sex prior to deciding if you want to have sex with her boyfriend period. Anna has to identify with her personal value system, explore her moral values doing so may help in making the best decision. First, the therapist should the emotional and physical consequences of having sexual intercourse. Both Anne and her therapist need to evaluate the relationship Anne shares with her boyfriend and decide if he is taking advantage of her or not. Definitely there seems to be some un-needed pressure on Anne to make the decision to have sex. The fact that her boyfriend is more mature than her and may be more experienced in sexual encounters.
Tom and Susan
The mental and physical problems Tom and Susan suffer from go hand in hand. Tom needs to acknowledge the fact that his body is different than it was when he was younger, and his physical capabilities are not the same. However this does not mean he can not sexually please his wife just the same. Acknowledgment of this is crucial for Tom and Susan, he needs to gain the courage and ability to be able to release any anxiety he may have.
The therapist should discuss the matter with the couple and also individually with the two. Tom will gain from information learned regarding sexual activities and behaviors. Since Tom and Susan are an elderly couple, they may not be physically able to do some of the things they used to do, despite that these two are still capable of the intimacy, foreplay, and coitus activities they use to engage in. Also, the therapist needs to explain to the couple that being more open with one another about their sexuality, they ten will come to find that they had benefited from the newfound openness which helps in their sexual activities. These two have been together for so long, they have grown comfortable with their relationship and probably has not discussed feelings like this before. This new bond will continue to grow and eventually Tom’s anxiety will too.
Bill
The first issue that the therapist should discuss with Bill is about his uneasiness when it comes to sexual behavior. Bill needs to be aware of the many different sexual choices people with a disability engage. Also the therapist will need to explain in depth, that his disability does not or will not make him any different when it comes to having a healthy sexual relationship. The fact that he may be unable to achieve sexual arousal the way those without disabilities do, has nothing to do with the many other sexual abilities he could possess. Since Bill struggles with his sexuality mostly in part, because of his disability, Bill’s therapist can recommend he do some research about the use of sexual tools that will improve a person who is disabled sex life. Again, in this situation the therapist needs to express why it is important to become open and honest with his partner, and not feel afraid to talk about this situation. Continuing to keep these feelings in side, is eventually going to hurt him. This may continue on and bother him so much to the point that his anxiety will only get worse. Learning to be more open with his partner and talking about his anxieties, can help him in accomplishing sexual gratification in his relationship.

Many conversations have formed and developed from the topic of sexuality by many different types of individuals. The truth being ones sexuality is not truly developed until that individual is completely mature. This means we never truly find complete satisfaction within our sexuality. There are many experiences in life that can alter ones sexual development and behavior such as upbringing, religion, or ones culture. In this paper I will discuss three scenarios, all of them experiencing their own unique phase of life dealing with different stages of sexuality. I am pretending to be a therapist, and I am listing to each or the patient’s perspectives and stories. Hopefully by doing so I will be able to come up with a conclusion to why they are faced with what they are facing. I also would like to help each individual form a healthy wise decision, as well as ways to overcome the obstacle that are currently presented in their lives by expressing their sexuality. Each problem every individual in every situation is dealing with a sexual problem that is why discussing their sexuality will help me in aiding their problems.…

The article that I have picked to write about is “ Couples and the Male Birth Control Pill: A Future Alternative in Contraceptive Selection,” from the publication of The Journal of Sex Research. Written by William Marsiglio and Elizabeth G. Menaghan. First, the article focuses on male oral contraceptives, as to where the studied is conducted based on married couples selected from a newspaper. Secondly, the survey was put into two categories husbands that believed the woman was responsible for taking the contraceptive and husbands that would be opened to taking the responsibility of taking the contraceptive pill. When the researchers sent out the surveys they also included the diversity and when was the couple married and if they were expecting a child soon or not. Researchers, input the data making predictions throughout the years since the idea began in 1975-1980. In their data they included the sex roles of husbands more than wives. They also included spouse’s attitude towards the contraceptive, the method, and responsibility of the wife, and the concerned with the chemical reaction of the contraceptive. Finally, the article also mentioned many different hypothesis during the process of the surveys and the analysis of the year and male preferences towards the birth control. Currently we have schools teaching about abstinence and how it prevents pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. However, many of these sex education programs do not include or want to include teaching about contraception for the adolescents who are not abstinent. Arguing that including contraception education in the program will send the wrong message about sex or that we are giving teenagers and young adults the "okay" to have sex. Not providing education on contraception will put teenagers who are not abstinent at a greater risk for catching sexually transmitted diseases and becoming pregnant at an earlier age. It is why schools should have sex education that supports abstinence but also teaches about contraception and what teenagers can do in case they decide to be sexually active.…
