Civil rights and civil liberties guarantee the people the protection that they need and respect they deserve in the United States. Before these rights were created there were a lot of problems that people were facing in the United States and the struggle of people being discriminated, abused, and disrespected by those with authority that eventually abused that power. However, changes started to happen when people came together to better the country as a whole and fairness to its people.
Civil rights are those that are granted by a government for the protection of its citizens in respect to guaranteeing fairness and checking discrimination. The civil rights pertains to equal treatment no matter your race, age, gender, or disability. When the civil rights was introduced many changes happened and there were a lot of people that were not happy

Civil liberties have helped and granted the American people and those who are outsiders to have a much more extension of rights. These rights are based in the court of law, relationships, someone expressing their own personal opinion, and more. The good thing about these rights is the fact that government granted it and the people have power in saying and protecting themselves. The people do not want a government that has too much power because if it was like that then their is nothing that the people can do.
