    Queen Hatshepsut Mystery

Historians believe that she was buried alongside her father in a tomb constructed during her dynasty. Egyptologists concluded that she was later removed from the tomb and placed into another next to her wet nurse. The new King soon ordered that her name be removed from all temple walls. The buildings and statues constructed in her honor were immediately demolished and defaced by his army. Her cartouches and images destroyed leaving obvious gaps in the late queen’s artwork. Historians believe that the mystery behind Thutmose’s actions stem directly from his own dislike for his stepmother. Towards the end of his reign, Thutmose III son Amenhotep II, his soon to be successor, made one last attempt to have his father remove Hatshepsut from all historical record. He convinced him that by doing so he could erase all female breaks in the royal Thutmose male lineage. Both theories sound plausible, but physical evidence suggests that the best answer to this mystery lies in the resentment Thutmose III held for the late Queen. Taking credit for her accomplishments in attempts to completely remove her from Egyptian history was a minor step in his master…

Both individuals are able to foretell the discontent, ill luck, and misfortune that will befall upon the city and Kreon himself if this decree is administered. In the dialogue exchange between Haemon and Kreon, Haemon states, “Then she will die, in death destroying someone else!” (Page 51, Line 751). Likewise, Teiresias puts forth, “In rage have I left fly these arrows, archer-like against your heart, since you have pained me; they are sure, and running will not help you to escape their fire” (Page 65, Lines 1084-1086). Kreon’s decree is a symbolic metaphor of his tyrannical, totalitarian monarchy style. Haemon and Tieresias, are both able to distinguish that his ego is far too large and his viewpoints are far too closed-minded, unable to acknowledge the consequences that these could potentially have on Thebes. Although Teiresias is aware of the fact that Kreon is unconcerned about the well-being and prosperity of the city immediately, and Haemon only realizes as the conversation with his father progresses, both come to understand why it is that he won’t revoke his decree. In turn Haemon utters, “And on a ship, if he who holds the power strains the rigging tight and does not yield, he turns his rowing benches over and completes his voyage upside down. So come, yield from your rage; allow yourself to change […] there is no true city that belongs…

Creon didn’t want to listen to when the people said that Antigone was doing the right thing. The actions that Creon took to cause the downfall of Thebes are that he didn’t want to bury Polyneices. Creon broke the burial law and punished them because they was following the rules, he wants everyone to apply by his rules. Creon advanced the plot and developed the theme, by the way he carry himself. His stubbornness and disrespect makes the theme more interesting. It shows that stubbornness is just as foolish as tyranny. He also has the flaw of judging people, he is very judgmental. Haemon and Creon both felt deep and passionate that their reasons are reasonable. Because that blocks them together as seeing things and from their beliefs. He wants his son to understand that the things are not personal. Creon wants his son and his people to believe in his rulership.…

By the beginning of the 18th Dynasty Amun had assumed the role of god of warfare and directed the Pharaoh in his actions against the enemies of Egypt. The planning of many campaigns of conquest was credited to him: he was the essential divine inspiration behind Egypt's successful strategies. The Pharaoh Kamose claims that he undertook the campaign to expel the 5.Hyksos "through the command of Amun, the just counsels." According to historian K. M. Jonsson the priesthood received large donations in gratitude for their assistance. In the Aswan Inscription Thutmose II claimed that both Re and Amun "smite for him his enemies", and that his victories resulted because "his father Amun loved him so much more than any King who had been since the beginning." Amun is even considered to have brought about Egypts expansion into Asia Minor. As a result of their involvement the priests accumulated great wealth and the right to supervise other deities.…

King Tut was an Egyptian Pharaoh that ruled between 1332 to 1323 BCE, during the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom. He is commonly known as the “The Boy King” because he started ruling at age 10 and unfortunately he died at the young age of 19. It was first believed that he was murdered since his mummified body showed a blow to his head. Later it was recognized that he suffered a fracture to his leg that became fatally infected. To understand King Tutankhamun it is important to understand what preceded him. It is unclear whether Tutankhamen ruled immediately right after his father Akhenaten, Some archeologist believe that there was at least two other king pharaohs between Tutankhamen and Akhenaten, one of them being Tutankhamen possible mother Nefertiti. But most importantly King Tutankhamun was known for the restoration of the traditional religion and worship of the God Amun. King Tutankhamun was originally named by Akhenaten as “Tutankhaten” which means the “living image of Aten”. Akhenaten caused social chaos when he forced people to worship the God Aten and made it the official religion. When King Tut took power he restored the traditional god Amun and changed his name to King Tutankhamen. King Tutankhamun's short lived reign did not accomplish more than restoring the original religion therefore, King…
