Have you ever wanted to do something as exciting as walking on a wire or watching bears in their natural habitat. Philippe Petit and Timothy Treadwell both dedicated characters, which put their life at risk. Philippe a childish daring man considered walking on the wire in one of the largest building in New York. Timothy a passionate reckless man driven to observe bears in their habitat in many different places. Both characters have a lot in common, mainly both characters were passionate, reckless, and law breaker. Yet they were still different in certain ways.
Everyone has a passion toward something whether it’s dangerous or a hobby that someone enjoys to do. Philippe was passionate toward his hobby which was high-wire walking. was self-centered to the point that all he could think about was ideas to walk on high wires. Philippe was fearless of heights I would say because all he did was practice his hobby. He went through a lot of trouble dragging friends with him hiding under covers for hours or behind sheets. A lot of people are reckless and law breaker to certain actions that they take, but Philippe pushed his way through accomplishing his needs. It takes a really brave man to be able to walk on a wire so high off the ground, but Philippe was fearless and wasn’t afraid of death. He was a talented man. A lot of people can be talented but will have fear of what they’re doing. Philippe wasn’t like that; it looked like he had absolute no fear. He was so creative that he was planning everything out sneaking into the World Trade Center to finally figure out how he is going to walk the wire along with the wind strength and how to stay stable.
There are many dedicated people out there who are committed to protecting animals, but Timothy has higher standard for himself. The bears are not at risk but in Timothy point of view they are and so he camps out breaking the law that states to stay a certain distance away from the bears in Katmai National Park Alaska. Timothy is suicidal being near the bears like that they could have attack him but he didn’t look at it like that the way he looked at it was the bear is his friend, sometimes he would touch them. He was reckless in many different ways, the park rangers had warned Timothy about being near the bears and the danger he could be in but he didn’t listen. Timothy was attacked at the park along with his girlfriend Amie Huguenard. Timothy drove himself to death, although he was not afraid to die. He even tried to save Amie by telling her to run but for some reason she didn’t. Amie could have survived if she never went with Timothy to the park knowing that what he was doing was reckless.
Philippe and Timothy were passionate, lawbreakers, and reckless.
Both characters were passionate in their own way. Philippe was passionate toward his about high-wire walking, this was his passion and we would do whatever it takes to achieve it. Timothy on the other hand had a passion to animal’s bears in particular. He thought of them as his friend and would pet them and camp near them. Along the way Philippe and Timothy were both law breakers. Philippe broke the law by crossing building and bridges without any permission, and Timothy broke the law by camping near the bears within a short distance, touching the bears, and staying in the same area instead of moving. Philippe and Timothy were both reckless in pursue of their journey. Philippe was reckless with the places he picked along with the trouble and dangers he faced. Although Timothy was reckless, he camped near the bears, and would pet them. Philippe and Timothy both had similarities in their own way. They also had differences like Philippe was a user and Timothy was a
bi-polar.
In conclusion, we all have done thing recklessly exciting thing. Philippe situation he accomplished to walk on the wire about 85 stories high. He did get in trouble for it, but after all ended alive. Timothy on the other hand enjoyed to run around animals and their natural habitat, and in his point of view they were his friends and didn’t care about death. Although he accomplished his journey but unfortunately was found dead. Both characters have a lot in common, mainly both characters were passionate, reckless, and law breaker.
