Both have been played in America for over 100 years Baseball began in England in 1744. Basketball originated in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The differences between Basketball and Baseball include their uniforms, the equipment they use, and the offensive and defensive format. The first difference between baseball and basketball is their uniforms. Uniforms give teams their identity and a sense of togetherness with each other. Baseball players wear pants that go down to their ankles, short sleeve shirts, and a helmet or hat during their game. On the contrary basketball players wear shorts and sleeveless shirts. Baseball players wear cleats, shoes with bumps on the bottom, to help grip in the dirt and run better. Basketball players wear basketball shoes that are flat. One way is how much they run on average. Football players like Johnson run about one and a half miles per game where a baseball player like Puig will barely run about a quarter of a mile per game. Another thing that is different position wise between these two players is how they catch the ball. Johnson starts even with the ball and then takes off trying to receive it. Puig will start with the ball in front of him and then he will have to track it down to catch it. The third thing that separates these players by position is what their intentions are when trying to catch the ball. When Johnson is trying to catch the ball, he is on offense and trying to score. When Puig is attempting to catch the ball, he is on defense and is trying to prevent the other team from scoring. That is how the positions of Johnson and Puig are…

America’s pastime and the tailed off version. The similarities and differences between baseball and softball. Baseball and softball are different and similar, the most obvious ones to the common eye are baseball fields are much larger and have a minimum of 300 feet and the players pitch overhand while in softball the field is a minimum of 200 feet and the players pitch underhand. The similarities entail the general concept of the game like “three strikes you’re out” and also while hitting the players both want to make contact with the ball and the bat the exact same way because they both want a nice level line drive rather than a pop-up.…

When it comes to pitching in softball and baseball you will be able to spot the difference right away. Pitchers in baseball throw the baseball over hand while softball players throw the softball underhand. Since softball players throw softballs underhand there is a difference in the pitching rules of baseball and softball. Softball players do not a have a regulation on how many innings they can throw, while baseball players have a limit of how many innings they are allowed to throw. This rule was established because throwing overhand takes a huge toll on the arm, while throwing underhand is more of a natural motion. The similarity between these two sports is the way pitches are called, balls and strikes, and hits and walks determine both sports and the outcome in the end.…
