Differences Between The Outsiders Movie And Book
The Outsiders by S.E Hinton has been made into a fiction film by Francis Ford Coppola. If you are thinking about seeing The Outsider don’t because there are too many changes between the book and the movie. I was very disappointed with the movie by Coppola. The Movie by Coppola is a big disgrace to the book by S.E Hinton. Three things I notice with the most changes were characters, setting, and plot. Francis Ford Coppola changed the character around a lot. Three characters that had the most changes were Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston (Dally). In the book, Pony had a good relationship with his brother Sodapop and not a good bond with his brother Darry. In the movie, Pony still has a good bond with Sodapop but

    It contains very strong theme about dysfunctional family, use of drugs and crime. I guess the board of education was afraid that the students will imitate the events in the book. However, I understand why they decided to re-allow it in schools. The author, who wrote this book around our age really wanted to deliver that we can all live together in peace and conflict only bring more conflict. Although the family in the Outsiders wasn’t the best family you could ask for, they had so much love inside them they didn’t actually portray to each other. They just didn’t know the right way to express it. I would rate this book 4/5 because of the effectiveness of the author trying to deliver her message in a coherent manner. I highly recommend all teenagers to read this book. Overall, I think this compelling story will grasp even the most reluctant readers thanks to the deep bond of sympathy.
