Differences In Health Care Environment

When workers are outside of the home, workers are also at risk from the community for the possibility of having their car stolen, being robbed, and also violence. During the visit the nurse should be aware of any unusual risks and hazards that are not often seen in other health care settings. Many health care workers do not consider the difference in environment due to being used to a controlled and traditional health care facility. Another difference in environment is the numerous household risk factors that can involve the presence of any sort of weapons in the home, illegal drug usage by client or members in the house, and additionally the potential violence that a family member can pose on the workers (Gross).
