INTRODUCTION
A. NATURE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY
In educational institutions, success is measured by academic performance, or how well a student meets standards set out by local government and the institution itself. As career competition grows even fiercer in the working world, the importance of students doing well in school has caught the attention of parents, legislators and government education departments alike. Measuring of academic performance of students is challenging since student performance is product of socio-economic, psychological and environmental factors. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the different factors that affect the academic performance of the students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba.
B. OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The study is conducted to determine the different factors that affect the academic performance of the students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba.
C. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This paper is a study of the factors affecting the academic performance, the ability to study and remember facts, of the student of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba. Specifically, it aims to discuss the following points:
1. What are the factors that affect the academic/school performance of the students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba?
2. Do social factors affect the students’ of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba academic performance?
3. Do psychological and environmental factors also affect the students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba’s academic performance?
D. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROBLEM
The author believes that this study will contribute to the following persons:
Students. This can serve as a guide on better understanding on how to improve their school/academic performance.
Author. For the knowledge, ideas and information from
