Diffucult Decisions
Difficult Decisions
In life, you will sometimes come across making some difficult decisions. One of my difficult decisions I had to make, was whether or not to keep a job, or to quit the job and be a full time student in college.
The first process of my decision started in high school, I decided I wanted a job so I could experience the work force and to make a little side cash for myself. After school each day, I went to all kinds of places to apply for a job. Finally, in June, I got a call for an interview and I got the job.
I knew before I got the job that I wanted to be a full time college student, and so with that being said, I had myself thinking, “Can I handle a job and be a full time college student?”. I really liked working and having money on my own rather than asking my parents for money. Another thought of mine was “What is more important? Side cash, or an education to an even better, higher paying job?”.
It is July now, and it’s getting very close for college to start, so I knew I had to make a decision soon. After evaluating my thoughts, getting an education to an even better, higher paying job was most important to me. The decision I chose to make was to quit the job and be a full time college student.
Life is not easy, and neither are difficult decisions. I’m very pleased with the decision I made, because I chose the most important to me.

Today, many students are beginning to work while in college. Over the past few years, tuition, room and board, and other school expenses have become more and more expensive. There are many types of financial aid available, such as loans, government grants, and scholarships that could help me pay for my college education. However, some of us are not lucky enough to receive “free money” from the government or a scholarship. For people like me who need to take out a loan in order to get through college, a job is necessary to make the monthly payments. I recently started my first semester in college to hopefully major in business administration in a couple years. I also got myself a part-time job managing finances at my brother’s body shop to pay for some expenses and carry some extra money. Through my experiences combining work and college, I have noticed there are many struggles, great ways to manage those struggles, and great benefits,…

Some of these decisions have the capacity to change the course of a person’s life either for the better or the worse. One of the most important decisions I have ever made up to this point in my life was to decide whether or not I should study abroad for an entire year. After I graduated from high school May of 2010, I took some time to think about the career path that I wanted to follow. A couple months after I graduated from high school, I applied for a job at the Early Explorers Head Start in Anamoose, ND. I did not get the job that I applied for but that was okay because the next day I got a call from the School District offering me another job. They offered me the job of the assistant substitute teacher in the Early Explorers classroom. I accepted the job offer and started working in September of 2010. I loved the job so much. There was also something special in the job for me, my baby brother was also in that class. My experiences have been very rewarding so far and have inspired me to want to continue along this path and seek further knowledge in the field. It truly does mean so much to me knowing that I have helped those children learn so many new things in life that will help them with their social and cognitive development.…
