The first step of the digestive process occurs in the mouth, and is known as ingestion. Once food is brought to the mouth are chewed by the teeth. In turn the salivary glands begin to secrete saliva. This has a role important, mixed with food, allowing the start of the disintegration
of the food. In addition to allowing passage of the bolus more easily from the mouth to the stomach through the esophagus.
Once the bolus reaches the stomach begins the second step of the digestive process, digestion. In the stomach begins secretion of acids gastric juices produced by gastric glands. These juices are mixed with the bolus with the help of movements produced by the stomach walls. These movements are continuous and repetitive. After 6 hours, the stomach contents white paste becomes. At this time, the digestive process is completed, and the stomach contents passes into the intestine.
Finally, once the small intestine is the product of the digestion, it begins the last step of the digestive process. To do this, the small intestine has a villi on its walls. These are able to absorb the nutrients in processed food. After being absorbed into the bloodstream, to be used as reserve energy for the human body. But here not finish the process of absorption, the part that is not digested pass the small intestine to the colon. The latter has the ability to absorb the water present in these residues and pass them to the rectum. Which it is responsible for storing and removing residue as stool. This completes the third step of the digestive process.
Eating food gives the human body the energy needed to function as a whole. This is accomplished by a series of steps. Ingestion produced in the mouth, the digestion that occurs in the stomach followed by the small intestine absorption allow food to be broken into small particles and absorbed.
