Digital Imaging Technician Essay
The Digital Imaging Technician is a new job that is becoming more popular by the year because of the digital filmmaking with RED & ARRI cameras. The DIT is part of the camera department and part of the post-production. They ingest the media, consults with the director of photography (DOP) and does onset color correction as the footage appears flat because it’s normally shot in Log.

This is the person performing the wrangling. This person is responsible for gathering and organizing different data sets collected on set. Another word used for data wrangling is data munging. This is the proses of converting raw footage into a different format so that the post-production crew can work with it more easily.

There are different types of media that requires different types of ingest methods: Log and Capture window should be required to ingest tape, and the Log and Transfer window should be used to ingest a tapeless format.

Step 2: Editorial Development
This is the step where your project is put together, which is referred to the offline or story edit. Here the raw media that you ingested in the Ingesting and Organizing Media stage, is turned into an edited program.

Step 3: Client Review
If you do have a client for the project you are working on, frequent and specific feedback from your client is extremely important.

Step 4: Finishing
After the project has been edited and the content seems to be complete, you have to put the final details on your project by polishing and tweaking it until it is perfect. This is referred to as Finishing. If you worked on your project using offline-quality media, you have to transcode it into the highest-quality version that is available.
