Purpose – This paper aims to address the issues of ethics and trust in a digital scholarship environment. The content is related to the accuracy of data, the integrity of scholarly research process, electronic publications and communications, intellectual property rights, confidentiality/ privacy and data security. Scholars are no longer using the observations and conduct their own research and framework but they rely almost 90% on information available on the Internet. This kind of situation has becoming a common practice and some people who are involved in education are worry about this. They no longer have trust in digital scholarship. So what is the purpose of having so many information if they are not trustworthy. The most crucial policy and legal attribute in promoting digital scholarship is an universal access because it guarantees that information resources are available to all at affordable price.
