Maybe next summer we could try to get him out, maybe by simply knocking on the front door. What if he starved to death or his brother beat him? If he is dead, maybe we should find out how he died, like we are the children police.
I reckon when Scout and I get married if he is not a creepy, monster, maybe we could invite him so he could meet people. That would have to be when he comes out of his house. Hopefully he comes out soon so that Scout and I can get married soon. But if he is a creepy monster and not dead maybe he could get help and become normal again. I wonder what made him become such a rebel when Atticus told me that he was such a good boy growing up.
Do you think that Boo has been watching you? What if he has been looking out his window at y’all lately? If he has, maybe y’all should confront him and ask him what he has been doing while he was locked up in his cage/home all of this time.

Even though he is her brother, he is also her best friend, and they get along better than Scout does with any of the kids at school. As Susan McHale stated, “Like friends, siblings are a focus of free time activities in childhood, but they also share family-centered activities such as meals and outings” (McHale). Jem may be Scout’s brother, but he has just as big of an impact on her life and growth as any other person in or out of Maycomb. He can get annoyed with her presence, but he loves her greatly and enjoys how she looks up to him, even if he doesn’t show it that often. She is fascinated by his knowledge, though sometimes his attempts at being authoritative drive her crazy. She also enjoys being with him, and his presence is comforting to her when she is afraid. For example, she is excited the next year of school because, “The only thing good about the second grade was that this year I had to stay as late as Jem, and we usually walked home together at three o’clock” (Lee 77). She appreciated him near, and she also owes him her life. If it weren’t for Jem, then she may never have gotten the nerve up to go close to the Radley house or have been protected when Mr. Ewell attacked them. No matter the time or place, Jem has always been there for Scout and has made a massive impact on her life.…

During the two years he was gone, McCandless never contacted his sister, whom he was very close with, or his parents. Although McCandless gets to know many people during his journey, he manages to keep a distance so he can painlessly slip out of their lives.…

In the poem, she describes how she is content with a boring life and shows that she dislikes anything which is out of the ordinary. This is an autobiographical poem, showing how Cope is content with an ordinary, boring life as opposed to drama and turbulence. This is shown by the use of regular stanzas and rhyme schemes, the use of language and the use of imagery.…

Having read Diana’s take on this story, I totally agree with the fact that the story is that of isolation, loneliness, and connectedness. Raymond Carver uses this story to depict a classic example of how disjointed and lonely people could be. Many people have allowed themselves to be consumed by life’s circumstances, career, and education. Consequently, they are far removed from friends, families, and the society. Ann, Howard, and Scotty who are the main character in this story, seem to have a perfect family at the beginning of the story. Howard’s thought when driving home was never to encounter those destructive “forces” that could cause the downfall of a man. He never realizes the need for any other connection than the one he had with his son and wife. He believed that the comfort of his family is sufficient, and by so doing was isolated from the rest of society.…
