First, I have invited Elie Wiesel to attend my dinner party. He is a survivor of the Holocaust, who was liberated by American troops in 1945. I have invited him because I have read one of his books about the Holocaust titled Night. This book has inspired me to want to learn more about the Holocaust, and to learn more about what it was really like, which I could do by speaking with him personally at my dinner party. Elie Wiesel has written more than 50 books since surviving the Holocaust, and has won a Nobel …show more content…
Peace Prize. This makes me want to learn more about what effect the Holocaust has had on his life, his writing, and his mind. I am looking forward to speaking with Elie Wiesel this Friday evening.
Afterwards, I invited Abraham Lincoln, former president of the United States.
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the Untied States. I have invited him to my dinner party because he did so many astonishing things for America that have not only inspired me, but have inspired several things and people in history since then. One of the things that he is most commonly known for is abolishing slavery with the 13th amendment, although many people think it was the Emancipation Proclamation that ended slavery. Another reason why I invited him is because I feel that him and Elie Wiesel would have several things to talk about. This is because in the Holocaust the Jews were slaves and were being discriminated for being Jewish, and Abraham Lincoln spent a majority of his time as president attempting, and eventually succeeding, on ending segregation. I also hope that Abraham Lincoln ive may give me some insight as to what is was like to be president, especially such a long time
ago.
Finally, the third person I have invited to my dinner party is Martin Luther King, Jr. He was an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He was most commonly known for his famous "I Have a Dream Speech." I invited him because he spent his life fighting for civil rights through nonviolent ways using his Christian beliefs. He has inspired vast amounts of people since his "I Have a Dream Speech" in 1963, and has greatly inspired me. He inspired me by giving me proof that violence is not necessary to solve problems. Also, I am greatly looking forward to having him at my dinner party due to the fact that he also has several things in common with my other guests, Elie Wiesel and Abraham Lincoln. All three of my guests have either been discriminated/punished for being different.
Overall, I am tremendously excited about my dinner party this Friday evening, and cannot wait to learn even more about my guests. Even though there will not be many guests at this dinner party, there will surely be plenty to talk about. I hope that all three of my guests, Elie Wiesel, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr, all have as good of a time as I will at my dinner party.
