You would think that elderly people would be the wisest of us all, so wise that they could be a leader in fact, well at least I think that they could, they know so much, more than us teenagers know. All elderlies are smarter than us but they all don’t have the same personality, some could be irritating, others joyful. Would the irritating elderlies fit to be a good leader, who’d they want to be one at all? In Animal Farm, George Orwell uses indirect characterization of Benjamin to illustrate his role on the farm, revealing that he’s not suitable to rule the farm as a leader. Benjamin’s detachment in Animal Farm came from his stereotypically stubborn and crotchety personality. Benjamin isn’t your average animal on the farm, he acts in a way to hate the other animals, he is devoted to being around and caring for Boxer at all times, no matter what’s going on around the farm, when Boxer was injured Benjamin was there to aid him, “He seldom talked, and when he did, it was usually to make some cynical remark…Alone among the animals on the farm he never laughed. Benjamin, detached from the rebellion but he did still criticize the rebellion even though he didn’t care about it, guided by a skeptical philosophy, all showing the same meaning, he’s not fit to be the leader of Animal Farm, he doesn’t care about anything on the farm as George Orwell has shown us, Benjamin is the type of person that only cares about himself and Boxer, no-one else. Not everyone is capable to be a leader, it’s just that we all are unique, maybe Benjamin didn’t want to be the leader of Animal Farm in the first place. George Orwell specifically made Benjamin to be like this, so that he couldn’t be fit to be a leader in the
