Dirt Bikes Networking
Dirt Bikes management can use several tools to maximize their efficiency, productivity, and lower their costs. These tools can prove to be a great asset to Dirt Bikes with the correct policies in place for their use.
Technology
Dirt Bikes currently provides network access to any employee with a computer. These employees can only access the network in this way. It also limits what is accessible and who can access it. An intranet is the best way to connect the network of different departments. It is only accessible by employees and allows each employee access to the information they need from other departments (Laudon & Laudon, 2013). This is effective and useful for all departments in the company.
Sales and Marketing can benefit from an Intranet by having quick access to everything they need, including sales reports and past records. The past records can provide helpful information for predicting future sales. Also, sales reports and product information help the employees recognize areas that need more work and what areas are successful. Being able to access all of this information with a simple keystroke or a click would save time and money because it would boost productivity.
Human resources can access complaints by employees and address concerns quickly and privately. They can send information to department heads privately for hiring, terminating, and drug testing employees. They can access all of this information quickly and it saves time. It can also reduce costs and time used by using less paper when doing things electronically rather than on paper.
Manufacturing and production can access sales reports as well as other reports such as design changes, part specifications, inventory, and more. This would allow more time spent on items that need to be manufactured more quickly and less time on items that aren’t selling as
