There was a time when learning was slowed down by the limitations of books and whiteboards, but we now know this is not the case because of the innovation of today’s technology.
Technology is a good thing when used correctly. It allows students to use the skills and the resources we have today in their learning environment. Most students are already familiar with how the internet works and can use those skills to help learn. Money is always an issue in education and technology can help. Virtual field trips, electronic forms instead of paper, email instead of printed memo’s, virtual labs, electronic textbooks, and the thousands of free online resources can all save schools money and give students excellent educational experiences.

Also, there are students that have a harder time learning when there is technology involved. Jason Saltmarsh explains “The use of technology hasn’t really produced any significant results in the past 20 years, and, even more troubling, studies show that increased screen time is harmful to children’s social and physical development.” Now just because there were no significant results doesn’t mean it isn’t helping, it’s just that schools shouldn’t just jump to conclusions and push technology towards every student's way.
