I would like to inform people of the great problems we face in the world today in disaster relief. Today we face many disasters all over the world. Some may be man-made and some natural. We have faced many disasters in this world from nation to nation and it’s only getting worse as time goes by. For some reason the government thinks that this is not a big problem and have tried to push it off in many occasions. I know from experience that we are not prepared for these disasters and the aftermath they create. I had my two oldest children at the time and lived in a two bedroom apartment. It was well spaced, very nice and the rent was only $590.00 a month. I was working and doing what I had to do to take care of my household. I would say I had a decent life and worked very hard for everything my children and I had. So the beginning of 2004 I had a miscarriage and then on Mother’s Day my best friend and mother died. It took me awhile to get my mind a life back on track. Then here comes August and I get to meet Katrina. When the news started notifying us on the hurricane it wasn’t that big. It was two days before landfall when it really started hitting the news. Then all you hear is she’s coming right our way. Living in New Orleans hurricanes are hit or miss, meaning the news will say they’re coming right for us then they take a last minute shift and just miss us. So when it comes time you have to
