Discipline Grid Disruption Of Class
On the discipline grid it says disrespectful behavior in the 5th offense is 5 OSS days. On the discipline grid disruption of class in the 5th offense is 3 OSS days. We have been asked plenty of times in Mrs. Kayla Ingalls class to stop being disrespectful and disruptive, and we have not listened to her. We are walking all over her because she is new, plus, she is a fun and exciting teacher, but since she is new, we aren't treating her the way we should treat her. She has wrote us detentions but has gave us many chances to fix what we do wrong and doesn't hand out the detention slip.
She has gave us seating charts to hopefully stop all the talking, and that hasn't worked. She has waited for us to get quite and that takes us about 5 minutes.

Yesterday he threw a dictionary across the room, knocked over his desk, kicked it, and began yelling obscenities at the teacher and the other students in the class (LD resource room). The teacher had to call for help from his ED resource room teacher to calm him down and safely remove him from the classroom.…

Misbehaviors in the classroom can be handled to the lowest possible level by not going overboard or to the extreme. Simply offering students choices or options as to correcting their behavior, and being consistent with the consequences for breaking the classroom rules worked best in a k3-8 classroom. Most k3-8 classrooms that I visited had a system for monitoring student behaviors. I've seen a color code chart; in which push pins were placed in either green for good, yellow for warning, and red for lunch/ or after school detention. If students remains in red for the whole day a one on one conference was done, they got a…

We are formally complaining that Ms Sanchez, through her actions, attitude, ethics, etc, exhibits a lack of respect and/or knowledge of the principles called for in creating a strong climate of positive relationships critical to creating a positive school climate. Throughout this entire affair, Ms Sanchez has exhibited an attitude of superiority, curtness, defensiveness, unwillingness, etc. From our first talks with her over this incident she has been unwilling to listen to anything we might have to say, or do, let alone discuss matters. The best example of this is when we initially asked, 4 days after the incident, why expulsion when there were less severe responses that could be applied, she flatly said: "it's assault, he's expelled." We…

Lastly, it is important to realize that suspension and expulsion have major impacts on child development, and the child’s ability to be able to get work and succeed in the future. A young teenager being involved in a fight regardless of fault and being expelled due to a zero tolerance policy may restrict their lives in the future. Studies have shown that students who get suspended and expelled achieve lower grades as they are missing out on learning time. While it is important to maintain a learning environment, suspension for minor offenses deprives students of the opportunity to learn which can be detrimental to their education and opportunities to find work in the…
