Discrimination In Australia Essay
To help solve the discrimination issues that exist in Australia, they had created a new system known by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Fairwork.gov.au, 2015). That act helps both the employees and employers to actually understand and try to comply with the new systems (Fairwork.gov.au, 2015). The act also have helps to provide education, consultants and information that may help to resolve workplace complaints that involves problems related to discrimination as well (Fairwork.gov.au, 2015). If there are issues regarding discrimination that is carried out in the workplace and the employee have complaint to the Fair Work Ombudsman, the allegations would be investigated and may end up with a decision which would bring justice to the discriminated victim …show more content…
What can be looked in the discussion is that from the articles that is looked and read, the employees’ rights are not well protected and there are many cases of unfair labor practices carried out in that particular country. That is because equality is not that widely expressed in Australia. The government must not take this current issue lightly as in has not been resolved for the past many years ago. If the issues keep continuing for many more years to come it could bring a lot of impact to not only the workplace but to the whole country. To ensure that all the individuals are protected as an employee in the workplace they will have to know their rights as an employee. Because the rights of unions are not widely appreciated in the country therefore, the employees must know their own rights to ensure that they are able to stand up for their rights and also there will not be any unfair labor practices, unfair dismissal in the workplace or even problems that may give rise of conflict between both employer and employee in the workplace. Also, discrimination in Australia emphasizes that the current workplace where the occurrence of the current issue that is being discussed; the workplace is not a safe environment for an individual to work in.
