What are we having this liberty for? We are having this liberty in order to reform our social system, which is full of inequality, discrimination and other things, which conflict with our fundamental rights.( B. R. Ambedkar). Society itself is very discriminative about race, ethnicity and sentencing those minority groups with drug charges against them and the dominant group getting lenient sentencing on the same charges there is also in general sentencing that is unjustified because of race. Many see these acts of sentencing charges as injustice and racial bias. If society and this nation itself made laws then why is there injustice and discrimination? Are the people that pledge to follow the law meaning the jury and judge follow the rules to their full extent or are they giving their own personal factor of how much sentencing a person should get for a crime that is minor but is being punished to the full extent?
Every moment that passes by each day a crime is being committed. People from different ethnicities are being tried for their crime that they have committed and are being wrongfully charged and being discriminated against. Many people see this in trails of drug use between ethnicities. There are two ethnicities in high demand that are being wrongfully sentenced for illegal substances which are African American and Caucasian. Even though drugs are illegal in the U.S. many argue that sentencing for cocaine and crack is racially unjustified when sentencing on drug conviction charges. Many argue in an article called ,“Making It Happen: The Case for Compromise in the Federal Cocaine Law Debate” that , “The specific accusation of racism has increased in recent years, with opponents arguing that cocaine laws, in particular, affect African-Americans disproportionately and thus contribute to racial division” (Kevin A, Sabet:182) . My understanding Cocaine is no different than crack cocaine. The only difference in these to substance is
