“You can't do that!” “That is against the law!” Blah, blah, blah. Our country had, or even now, has restrictions we call laws that make zero sense. Not adequate or not favorable to our society. But who came up with these “rules?” Disobeying these “laws” have made our country something great. If it wasn't because our historical disobedience we would still be living under the “white/colored” division we once had. We came really far from what we once were. Progress. Racism, one of our greatest historical mistakes. Some of you might call it something not bad. We would still be living under color-based treatment if is wasn't for one of the most revolutionary characters, Rosa Parks. Some of you will think she wasn't that big of a deal, or she didn't do much. But she did more than what people in her time were scared to do. She disobeyed the law of “black on the back and white up front.” She was tired from work and there was no space on the back of the bus, so she decided to sit up front. Somewhere she wasn't allowed. A white person demanded for Parks to give up her seat for her. “No,” was her reply. She went to prison. Stupid reason, I know. She wanted equal treatment. She disobeyed the law so people could see how unreasonable the law was. She wanted equality; for black and white to seem the same. Her
To end racism, he broke more than 1 rule/law for equality. Do you think we would have equal treatment of race and color if it wasn't because of him? He organized marches, protests, etc. Colored people weren't allowed to do anything of that measure. But he went against the law to fight for his dream. He rebelled against the law system or what people preached at his time. His powerful speech “I Have a Dream” was one of the most efficient things that helped us reach equality. Because of him we took a large step towards the free country we are
