For example, Rosa Parks showed America that disobedience is absolutely necessary, by not giving up her seat to another white passenger at the Montgomery. She was coming home from work that day when she sat in the colored section like always. The difference this time was that the bus was full, and a white man did not have a place to sit. Then the
bus driver ordered Rosa Parks to get up and abandon her seat. She disobeyed that order and got fined then arrested. Her arrest was so magnificent that it sparked a 381-day boycott in Montgomery. This later on led to the end of the bus segregation in Alabama by the United States supreme court, and Rosa Parks made that possible by disobeying that order on the Montgomery bus in 1955.
Martin Luther King Jr also promoted social progress by standing up for his beliefs and protesting in the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King also MLK, led the 381-day boycott after Rosa Parks was arrested and continue to protest. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and has 2 siblings. He was educated and was against discrimination. He wanted blacks and whites to be equal in a peaceful manner. That is what made him protest against segregation and disobey the law. Although this got him arrested multiple times, he made a splendid change in history which ultimately ended segregation. Things might not have been the same if people like Martin Luther King Jr did not disobey the law and do the right thing.
