HEALTHY FAST FOOD

TIPS FOR MAKING HEALTHIER FAST FOOD CHOICES
Fast food is cheap, convenient, filling, and to many of us it tastes good. If you are eating out, a fast food restaurant is often the cheapest option, but unfortunately not a healthy one. Eating just one fast food meal can pack enough calories, sodium, and fat for the entire day or more. Eating fast food on a regular basis can lead to a host of different health problems, both physical and psychological.
Still, in a bad economy the quick-and-cheap temptation can often be hard to resist. As an informed customer, though, you can make healthier choices and still enjoy the price and convenience of fast food restaurants.

WHEN IS IT HEALTHY TO EAT FAST FOOD?
The short answer is: rarely. Typically, fast food is low in nutrition and high in trans-fat, saturated fat, sodium, and calories. Some examples:
A single meal of a Double Whopper with cheese, a medium order of fries, and an apple pie from Burger King contains more saturated fat than American heart Association recommends we consume in two days.
Moderation becomes the key. It’s ok to indulge a craving for French fries every now and then but to stay healthy you can’t make it a regular habit. Finding a healthy, well-balanced meal in most fast food restaurants can be a challenge, but there are always choices you can make tht are healthier than others.

LEARNING TO MAKE HEALTHIER CHOICES AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS
Making healthier choices at fast food restaurants is easier if you prepare ahead by checking guides that show you the nutritional content of meal choices at your favourite restaurants. Free Downloadable guides help you evaluate your options. If you have a special dietary concern, such as diabetes, heart health or weight loss, the websites of national non-profits provide useful advice. You can also choose to patronize restaurants that focus on natural, high quality food.
If you don’t prepare ahead of time, common sense guidelines help you

When people go out to eat at a fast food restaurant often, they begin to think and eat differently than they normally would just eating at home. Jenny Murphy pointed out that, “As American eat out more and more frequently, they become accustomed to those oversized portion, and think that such portions are normal. The high calorie content of these large servings leads to weight gain for regular fast food customers, and obesity can lead to many dangerous health problems.” In this last quote, Jenny Murphy states that regular fast food customers are the ones gaining weight, so maybe if the regular customers stop going there as often it might help them in the long run. People become unaware of the product that they are consuming and it begins to be too much and they begin to feel fuller than they normally would. After doing this for extended periods of time, the mind begins to think that it is not full unless you consume more than you normally would have. Due to this factor, most americans tend to gain…

In my opinion i think that fast food is injurious to health because Eating frequent fast food meals causes teens and young adults to gain more weight and face an increased risk of developing insulin resistance. fast food can make you obese and can also cause diabetes, heart disease, and very high blood pressure which can cut over 20 years of your life. Fast food obesity is extremely strenuous for the entire body, which was never intended to carry that much extra weight. Your heart will also end up working harder than it should, which eventually leads to obesity heart disease. Usually, fast food is higher in soya, fat, sugar, oil, fried meat, salt, cheese, mayonnaise and obviously calories. The greatest disadvantage of fast food is the adverse effect that it has on one's health. It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than home-cooked meals, as it contains higher amounts of unwanted nutrients like salt, fat and various types of additives (artificial chemicals). It may contain harmful bacteria too. Frying destroys most of the essential nutrients from the food. Very small amounts of vegetables and fruits are normally present in fast food. Moreover, 'serving larger portions' when most people don't need extra portions has led to several health problems. We require a small amount of salt to maintain the health of the cells and tissues. Fast food being rich in salt, adversely affects the heart health and the overall health of an individual. Such type of food is an important contributor to obesity in the American population. Obesity is on the rise, and a direct link is being cited between fast food and obesity in children. Eating fast food is completely routine for many individuals --- often heading to a drive-thru multiple times per week, or even multiple times per day. While eating fast food is…
