They already have satellites that track our conversations, texts, web activity on our phones, so why not use it to catch distracted driving. How much easier would that be? People would never know. Those satellites could contact local police stations to let them know and have an officer pull the distracted driver over. How many lives could we save that way? How man people would become less afraid of driving? A lot. We could help so many people if only the government tried. Some people are terrified to even go out to drive, because they are afraid of either distracted drivers or drunk drivers. Would you believe that the percentage of accidents from distracted driving is higher than drunk driving? Crazy right? It should be the other way around but it’s not.
Have police pull people over if they see them on the phone. That’s not hard, it would be A LOT safer that way, maybe even video tape drivers to catch distracted drivers. Many lives could be saved, if only we actually tried to stop it. We could cause a lot less people grief from losing loved ones in distracted driving accidents. What is so bad about putting your phone down to drive? That tweet can wait, that status, that reblog, it can all wait.
