Beatrice or "Tris" Prior is the protagonist and narrator of Divergent. She is a sixteen year old girl who is sarcastic, strong-willed, and dislikes showing weakness, and has been this way ever since she was a young girl but because she was born into Abnegation she has had to hide it under a blanket of acceptance that she has a life focused on serving others although she never fully learned to willingly follow their faction's virtues once she became a Dauntless initiates she could be her self, Tris has always seen the Dauntless as free and willing to do almost anything sometime even if it endangers there life and tris finds this interesting and exciting because abnegation are so strict with seemingly need less rule “It
