1: uno (un / una) (*)2: dos3: tres4: cuatro5: cinco6: seis7: siete8: ocho9: nueve10: diez(*) Number 1 ("uno"), in Spanish, changes to "un" if it is followed by a masculine noun, and to "una" if followed by a feminine noun.Examples:"Yo tengo un hermano" (I have one brother)As "hermano" is a masculine noun, we use "un""Yo tengo una hermana" (I have one sister)In this case, "hermana" is feminine, that's why we use "una".Ok, but... what about for "uno"?¿Cuantos libros tienes? (How many books do you have got?)Sólo tengo uno. (I just have got one)(See it?)Ok, here we have other examples:"Tengo tres manzanas" (I have got three apples)As you can see, the order of verb and complements in both sentences (Spanish and English) is very similar. And… good news! Apart from number "uno", Spanish numbers make no difference between masculine and feminine nouns. So, you can say:"La casa tiene cuatro habitaciones" (The house has four rooms)(The word "habitación" is masculine)or:"Tienes cuatro hermanas" (You have four sisters)(The word "hermana" is feminine)§ Grammar Point:What's the difference between "habitación" and "habitaciones"?The difference is just that the first word is singular and the second plural. And here comes the rule:- In Spanish, any word ending with "-ón" makes the plural in "-ones". Remember?…

A recent research was conducted on the random 25,000 United States citizens. They were employed, unemployed and underemployed between 1998 – 2012, one of the most volatile duration in American history. The study showed that there is a decline in job satisfaction among labor, workers doubt that their loyalty to employers is reciprocated, losing hope in their government and policy makers, and are frustrated about inadequate training and educational programs for unskilled or unemployed labors (Horn, What Workers Really Want and Need, 2013). The data was put together for the declining of job satisfaction among the US workers based on the various factors. The charts below summarizes…

PREGUNTAS 3: ¿Cuáles son las claves del éxito de la empresa? Busque la información necesaria para argumentar su respuesta. First of all, Imaginarium’s key success factor is that they know how to distinguish themselves from competitors in the toys industry. The success will be explained by using elements of the so-called “value chain”. According to Félix Tena1 (general director of Imaginarium) himself, the key factors to his company’s success are its logistics and the detailed study of any implementation (before it is definitely implemented). Looking at the production, Imaginarium chooses to focus on toys that positively influence the formation and development of children through play and fun. Other than its competitors, this company has specifically chosen not to sell toys related to violence or sexism, because this does not positively influence the upbringing of children. Regarding marketing and sales, Imaginarium tries to get the attention of both children and their parents. Unlike competitors, they do not use advertising through television commercials. Instead, the toy retailer uses their stores – the attractiveness of and the experience in the stores – as a way to sell their products. Concerning Imaginarium’s HRM policies, they specifically choose employees who have an interest in the well being of children and who can identify with the company’s vision. Most employees are recent graduates in the field of e.g. pedagogy, psychologists, or educators. This way they know how to deal with children coming into the store, and moreover they can obtain parents’ confidence (who eventually should buy the toys). Concluding, there are many factors that can explain Imaginarium’s success, but most importantly is that they company has distinguished itself from its competitors by really identifying with their customers’ needs.…

Brand management is a topic of considerable interest for both academia and industry. Building and managing strong brands is considered to be one of the crucial tasks of brand managers for the success of any hospitality and tourism organization. Strong brands provide a series of benefits to service firms, such as greater customer loyalty and higher resiliency to endure crisis situations, higher profit margins, higher market value (O’Neil and Xiao, 2006), more favorable customer response to price change, and licensing and brand extension opportunities (Keller, 2001). Ries and Ries (1998, p. 2) argue that branding has possibly been one of the most critical marketing strategies that serve as ‘the glue that embraces the wide range of marketing functions collectively.’ In the past 20 years, the hotel industry has observed the proliferation of new brands. The rapid growth in hotel branding, totaling approximately 285 brands around the world in 2006, poses some problems to customers. Many hotel guests are confused with an explosion in the number of brands, and they may not be able to distinguish many similar brands offered by different hotel companies, in the same price range. According to Hotel & Motel Management magazine (2004), the total number of lodging brands in the extended-stay segment alone was over 25. For example, Residence Inn by Marriott was the front-runner in this segment, closely followed by Homewood Suites by Hilton, Extended StayAmerica, and Candlewood Suites by InterContinental. There are plenty of newly launched hotel brands such as Starwood’s ‘XYZ’, Choice Hotel’s chicCabmira Suites and InterContinetal’s Indigo (Weinstein, 2005). Starwood typically focuses on operating luxury brands, namely, St. Regis, the Luxury Collection, ‘W’ and upper upscale segments such as Sheraton and Westin. It developed…
