Divorce: Inevitable
Statistics show that the United States has the highest divorce rate out of all countries. More marriages are resulting in divorce then couples working through their problems and staying married. There are many causes why marriage can result in divorce. Some causes in divorce today consist of poor communication, financial problems, and infidelity. The effects of the causes on both people in the marriage can be both emotionally and mentally devastating. Poor communication can be a large cause for divorce in many marriages. When you and your partner have bad communication skills you can be left feeling like you partner isn’t listening to what your saying; which can cause more constant arguing. Another effect to poor communication can lead to couples having a more difficult time to relate to each other. Without the ability to relate to each other the couple might begin to second-guess the relationship. Poor communication in a relationship often leads to misunderstandings that can result in divorce. Infidelity is also a large cause in many divorces. Trust is a large factor in each person in a relationship. Once a partner betrays that trust by infidelity the effects on a relationship can be devastating. Where there was once trust no becomes suspicion. For the partner that’s been lied to, feeling can fill the mind until thoughts can become obsessive. Once trust is broken, it can most often be impossible to regain trust in your partner and this to can result in divorce. It is said that financial stress is a leading cause for divorce in the United States. Married couples tend to blame each other for the financial problems, causing on going arguments.
