Do Video Games Cause Violent Behavior
For the last two Decades researchers have investigated whether or not video games cause violent behavior. During this period of time there have been multiple violent events in the world and people make the assumption that the violent behavior is caused by video games. To my experience I would have to agree with this statement and say that video games do cause violent behavior because I have encountered someone's behavior, I have seen the development of how realistic the games look like, and I have personally felt the sensation of playing the games myself. In my home my six year old nephew lives with me and he really loves to play games. When he comes from school right away wants to go straight to play his video games and out of the variety …show more content…
I played all types of video games, but my brother was the one who would choose the games and he would choose a violent game that we played together. It was very intriguing and the more that I played I got addicted to because I thought it was a fun game. In times I would get frustrated because I could not pass a level, my temper began to have a change. After a while I grew out of playing so many games. However, there are people that play so much and for longer periods of time. Most likely I would say that it does depend on the type of game you play and how much you get into it. There are games that could improve your skills and improve your way of reacting fast. Also games like being a soldier could interest some people in wanting to become one which I have seen happen.
Even though, video games could in a way benefit someone I will still stick to the point that in my opinion violent video games could cause aggressive behavior. Just like my nephew, the improvement in the graphics, and from my experience have all directed me to agree with the statement. Overall, I believe that the amount of time a person plays and the type of game it is will make a difference in their behavior. In short, even if it is possible to get something good out of it I will still stick to my own opinion that video games do cause violent

After reading the yes side of do video games lead to violence, I’m going to have to say I disagree with them. Because if that was the case then every little kid that played a violent game would try and do what happen in the video game but they don’t. Yes, they might get more aggressive but that don’t mean it’s because of the video game. A lot of violence comes from how the kid was raise and what he or she has seen from their elders. In the research that was provide the highest time of risk to gain violence for kids was between ages 9-12 and 15-18. But this is not just them using research by video game they been using television and movies. In some ways I can see where video games can raise aggressive. There have been many arguments that have been brought up arguing that violent video games are making kids more violent. Some arguments go as far as saying all video games are making kids more violent. However, the argument can go both ways. People have brought up that video games help kids with hand eye coordination and allow them to vent their frustrations. The earliest videogame has been around since 1958, and this game was a simple game that had no human and no violence in it. As technology became more advanced the videogames became more violent. Starting with a ball bouncing right and left in a videogame called Tennis for Two and ending with an incredibly violent video game that encourages killing other humans in Manhunt 2. The amount of children that have entered the world of video gaming has changed drastically, and not for the better. A child will not have a grasp on the perception of how to communicate with others in "real life". Some video games have been proven to cause addiction, ultimately removing a child from social situations that may be necessary for the future of your child. Dai, Danielle and Amanda Frey collected the statistic that “In America, 81% of youths play at least once a month, 8.5% of them are addicted and “the average 8- to 12 year-old now plays 13 hours of video games per week, while the average 13- to 18 year old plays 14 hours of video games per week” (Metrics 2.0, 2007).” If addiction runs in your genetics try to limit the amount of playtime by setting restrictions that can be programmed directly into many of the modern day consoles, limiting daily playtime for children of any age group. Parents should also consider whether or not the games involve multiple player, creating a bonding experience for a group of people. Building these bonding connections at an early age connects directly to stable relationships for the future to come. ¬¬¬…
