Summary: In the “Do We Survive Death” Rachels shows several important theories and beliefs. First he presents the idea of an immortal soul. Rachels presents the thoughts of and important philosopher, Socrates about the idea about the immortal soul .Arguing that his arguments were flawed but had a great influence that was adopted by Christian thinkers. He Presents two ways this is a problem for the Soul theory, first scientific study have moved from soul to brain, second is that consciousness is connected to a well-functioning brain and without the brain you are death.
